Works are crafted by our talented mother-daughter duo based in Scituate and inspired by the simultaneously compelling beauty and danger of the cold waters off the South Shore.

Hot wax moves like hot water with ultimate fluidity without the need for the addition of media that can cause later shifts and discoloration of artwork- as fluid as it starts, wax quickly solidifies into a permanent work off art through fusion with specialized heat guns.

Soft Focus Salt Water Droplet Macro Photography

 Through one- if not several- layers of glass, carefully scattered seashells, salt water droplets,  photos modified through layers of filters and backlit by an ipad, and the extra layer of photographing an original photo onscreen to produce another original photo, Hot Water Wax’s photography highlights the need to see and know through layers cloaking reality. A variety of media- fine art paper, acrylic, and metal complement these conceptual works.

Salt Water Views
The most important views living on the coast are seen through weather, sea spray, underwater, in quick glimpses, and from a distance. Raindrops obscure vision and also act as magnifying glasses, simultaneously bringing into and removing the scene from focus.
Macro Photography
A macro photography technique capatures original photos of the South Shore displayed on an ipad lens underneath up to four layers of glass containing water, shells, and natural items from the coast.
