Through one- if not several- layers of glass, carefully scattered seashells, salt water droplets,  photos modified through layers of filters and backlit by an ipad, and the extra layer of photographing an original photo onscreen to produce another original photo, these artworks highlight the need to see and know through layers cloaking reality.

The precarious nature of living on the sea especially for families in Scituate which directly faces the Atlantic storms is captured in the second series. The house is based on a seed image of a Scituate home, modified to not represent an individual home but the generality of the coastal/stilted storm experience. The works speak to the strength of neighborhood and community on the South Shore. The viewer checks in on a neighbor while he himself is in the middle of the gall, window panes covered with rain drops and everything outside in soft focus- Will we survive the storm? Is the neighbor home? Are they okay? This series draws from personal experience of the artist team appreciating the presence of watchful neighbors and offering the same safety of an extra eye to neighbors.
